Samsung Galaxy S20

Release date: March 2020 | Weight: 163g/186g | Dimensions: 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9mm/161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8mm | OS: Android 10 | Screen size: 6.2-inch/6.7-inch | Resolution: 1440 x 3200 | CPU: Snapdragon 865 / Exynos 990 | RAM: 8GB/12GB | Storage: 128GB (S20) or 128GB/256GB/512GB (S20 Plus) | Battery: 4,000mAh/4500mAh | Rear camera: 12MP + 64MP + 12MP | Front camera: 10MP

The best screen around
Excellent cameras
High price
Iterative improvements

The Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20 Plus are – along with the Galaxy S20 Ultra – Samsung’s latest and greatest flagship phones, so it’s no wonder they top this list.

While the S20 Plus has a slight specs edge, thanks to a larger 6.7-inch screen, a bigger 4,500mAh battery, a fourth camera lens (for depth-sensing) and optionally more storage, they’re largely very similar phones, so they’re fit to share the top spot.

Both have a highly capable camera array, with 12MP standard, 12MP ultra-wide, and 64MP telephoto sensors, and both also have top-end power, thanks to a Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset (depending on where in the world you are) and up to 12GB of RAM.

They also both have a stunning 1440 x 3200 display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. At the time of writing this is arguably the best screen you’ll find on any smartphone.

The design is premium too, and they’re both packed full of features, like reverse wireless charging, 5G, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and water resistance. They might not quite be the very best at everything, but they’re certainly the best Android phones overall.

MTN Tariff Plans, Prices and Migration Codes in 2020

Best MTN Tariff Plans, Prices and Migration Codes in 2020

This review will cover the best & Cheapest MTN Tariff Plans and their Prices  and Migration Codes in Nigeria 2020.

I doubt you wouldn’t agree with me:

Getting the best MTN Tariff Plan  is like choosing a marriage partner in Nigeria.

They are extremely valuable to subscribers but you hardly find the perfect plan. Even if you do, there are some fault in them.

It’s more like choosing the the trouble you can, with patience, deal with.

I guess that’s what defines the longevity of relationship. (Yes, I know this is not a relationship blog, but you get where i’m going right?)

Nevertheless, if you do find the ideal tariff plan, your money doesn’t have to fly with each call you make.

I’ve received reports from friends and family on how MTN keep bleeding their airtime dry .

Some even feel robbed off of their own money and drop MTN for another network.

But it doesn’t have to be that way,  or is it?

Solution?

Read through, will you?

The thing is, many customers don’t know the plans they are subscribing to. And might end up with the wrong tariff plan.

On the other hand, MTN has made some plans so good that you’d like to jump on it ASAP.

But before you go on a merry go ride, why don’t take a leap to see the best mtn tariffs, & their migration codes.  I’d also tell you if the plan is worth subscribing to.

This is to allow you choose the right plan that’s perfect for you.

MTN Xtra Special

MTN SuperSaver PlusDial *408# or Text 408 to 13140K/Sec

You should know that MTN has a lot of tariff plans under their belts. However, I’ll only pick the best plans you are worthy of.

I’ll warn you, the write up is a bit long. If you can’t follow up, I guess the table will help you take a short cut.

Above is a table that contains the Tariff plans, Prices and Migration codes.

MTN Beta Talk  – Customer’s Choice

I think Beta talk is the most talked about Mtn tariff plan on this list (You see what I did there? pun intended guys). I wouldn’t be surprised why it is the subscribers favorite.

Subscribing to Beta talk automatically qualifies you to get 250% bonus on any recharge, that’s above N100.

So let’s see, if you recharge N100 you get slapped (ouch! that hurts) with 250% bonus and 10 MB of Data.

Well, if you happen to recharge below N100 while subscribe to this plan, you’ll be credited a 150% bonus.

For those of you that have a reason to call someone abroad, please don’t. This plan isn’t suitable for that. No try am!

Cause you’ll be charged an excess of 40K/Sec from the bonus.

Read: 9mobile Tariffs to trim your Airtime budget

To Migrate to MTN Beta talk:

Simply Text BT to 131 or *123*2*6#

For more about the MTN Beta talk, I’ve written an in-depth article about the pros and cons of the plan. Use the link to check it out!

MTN Pulse – Best For Internet Surfing in 2020 and Beyond

MTN Pulse is my personal favorite. I’ve been on this before I could differentiate between tooth and nail. That’s a joke though!

But seriously, MTN pulse is for the Data Poachers.

If you are the internet freak that enjoys surfing the internet than calling people, look no further.

Here, there’s more:

Pulse offers cheap rates on national calls. Practically, you will be charged N6.6 for every minute.

MTN pulse is an exclusive tariff plan. In fact, it’s the only plan you will get 1 GB weekly subscription for just N500.

If you recharge N100 / N200, you get a bonus of 10MB / 20MB which is valid 24hours.

The hunters of night browsing will definitely like this:

MTN pulse subscribers are the only ones qualified to browse at night at cheap prices of N500 MB for just N25.

Finally, MTN pulse seem to be the most balanced plan you can subscribe. First you enjoy browsing at cheap rate and call at an average price. To me, this is the best plan ever on MTN yet.

MTN Trutalk+

Trutalk is another popular MTN Tariff Plans option amongst  MTN subscribers. This plan is perfect for subscribers that would want to make cheap calls to any network at 11k/second.

However, the international call rate is about 20k/sec.

To subscribe to the plan, you’ll be charged a daily access fee of N5. This daily fee only applies to the first call you make for the day.

Migrate to MTN Trutalk+ all you have to do is text TP to 131 or *123*20#

MTN Xtra Special

There’s nothing that would suck up your airtime like international calls. Isn’t it?

Don’t rush to call outside Nigeria without subscribing to a plan that will help minimize the charges.

If you are looking for a super saver MTN tariff for international calls, the Xtra special is yours to the taking.

Unlike the pulse, the Xtra special doesn’t charge an extra fee for first call charges.

To subscribe to the plan:

Simply Dial *408#

MTN SuperSaver Plus

No one will tell you that the supersaver plus allows you to enjoy a flat rate 15 kobo per sec from MTN to MTN.

While calls to other networks will attract 40 kobo per sec.

There’s nothing overly exciting about this plan. But here are some benefits of subscribing to the supersaver plus:

Enjoy free happy hours calls to MTN numbers with N100 from 00.30 to 4.30 which is applicable for both (business days and weekends)

To Migrate:

Dial *408# or Text 408 to 131

CONCLUSION

There you have it guys, the cheapest MTN Tariff Plans handpicked for you. This will make it easy for you not to get ripped off in this recession Era.

If you’d like to see more Tariff plan reviews as this one, kindly ask via the comment section.

After putting the last stop to this article, I felt like a good brother looking out for his siblings. Normally, I’d request a thank you, but if you’ve read thus far, Thank You Guys!

Somalia ranks 7th in having cheap mobile data prices in the world

While Somalia ranks 7th for the cheapest mobile data prices in the world, five of the ten most expensive countries to buy mobile data are in sub-Saharan Africa.

Focusing more on tech publications on Africa, will tell you that as the result of expensive data technology adoption is minimal.

Yet, it can sometimes be difficult to translate this well-accepted idea of expensive mobile internet. How much do people across different African continents pay for data? It’s a question I often ask in my column, Digital Nomads.

In somalia they pay very little for mobile data unlike some other countries.

A Nigerian journalist who lived and worked in Somaliland told TechCabal; “$15 is unlimited. Many of the working class are comfortable with this. That’s ₦6,000 or thereabouts.”

My response to hearing such cheap costs at the time was; “it’s one of the best deals I’ve heard of and I’ve spoken to people in Kenya, Uganda and Mauritius.”

Now, there is data to support that Somalia indeed has the cheapest mobile costs in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Global mobile data comparison 2020

A new survey by Cable.co.uk shows the worldwide mobile data pricing using the cost of 1GB of mobile data in 228 countries as a benchmark.

Somalia is ranked number 7 on the list for countries with the cheapest mobile data plans, behind India, Israel, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The average price of 1GB of mobile data in Somalia is $0.50.

Despite Somalia’s low mobile data costs, it doesn’t fall into the typical example of countries where mobile data is cheap because of excellent infrastructure. What is more likely is that because of disruptions and insecurity, the government has lowered regulatory barriers for telcos.

Apart from Somalia, the only other Sub-Saharan countries near the top ten are Sudan (13th) Reunion (22nd) and Tanzania (23rd).

Africa’s most populous nation, Nigeria is ranked 58th with an average price of $1.58 for 1GB of mobile data. Its neighbor, Ghana (rank: 38th, average price of mobile data, $0.94), fares better.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with 4th most expensive mobile costs

While some Sub-Saharan countries are in the top 50 for mobile data costs, the region has a lot of catching up to do. Only the Northern America, Oceania and Carribean regions have more expensive mobile data. Five of the ten most expensive countries to buy mobile data in the world are in sub-Saharan Africa.

The country with the most expensive mobile data is St.Helena with an average price of $52.50 for 1GB of data. One reason why data is so expensive in St. Helena is because it is an island.

Cable.co.uk explains that island countries often have high data costs:

“Conversely to the most expensive, none of these countries are islands. Islands are less likely to have an extensive fibre infrastructure, and since mobile networks normally rely on connection to a fibre backbone, other more expensive solutions such as satellite uplink have had to be instituted – a cost passed on to the consumer.”

But some other African countries that make up the rest of the bottom ten have no such excuses. Malawi is ranked 224 while Nigeria’s neighbors, Chad and Benin Republic are ranked 222 and 223 respectively.

Unlike Sub-Saharan Africa, Northern African countries are great for mobile data users. All but two of the seven North African countries are in the cheapest half of the table. Algeria is the cheapest in North Africa at an average cost of $0.65 while Libya, the most expensive in the region has an average cost of $4.73 for 1GB.

Repairing a damaged sdcard without formatting

If your SD card is damaged, formatting should be the last choice. There are other choices that can help to deal with a damaged SD card and its files.

In this article, you will find out:

  • - how to check if an SD card isn’t working well
  • - how to fix a corrupted SD card without formatting
  • - how to retrieve data from a damaged memory card
  • - tips on how to avoid data loss in the future

Are you ready to deal with these problems? Let’s read!

Signs an SD card is damaged

Yes, your SD card is in trouble, if you have some of these signs:

  • If you cannot open photos, videos or other documents on your SD card. Or they are read incorrectly or in fragments.

recover your SD card without formatting

  • If you connect the SD card to the card reader, but it is not readable or not recognized by your smartphone or computer. You may get the messages: “Memory card error” or “Damaged memory card”.
  • If your operating system generates read errors such as: “SD card is not available. The file or directory is damaged and cannot be read.” or "Error reading / writing to SD card."
  • If you cannot add, save, delete, or copy any files on the SD card, while you see the entire contents of the SD card and receive an error message: “write protected”.
  • If the SD card needs to be formatted, and you get the message “The SD card is not formatted, do you want to format it now?”
  • If you have noticed any kind of mechanical damage on your SD card.

Only in the last case is there practically no chance to return your data.

But if this is a logistical error, then all is not lost. In these cases, fixing a corrupted SD card without formatting is worth a try. Moreover, there are many options for this.

Try another adapter or gadget

This is the first thing you should do.

Perhaps you think that this is nonsense, but it is definitely not! Often, your computer, smartphone or other gadget is incompatible with the SD card. And all that is required to recover a damaged SD card without formatting is to connect it to another card reader. With luck, the card should be recognized and read by the computer.

But if this method did not help you, do not worry. This is only one of the options to recover a damaged SD card without formatting.

Check SD card for errors

You can try to correct a logical error in the Properties menu of Windows.

This procedure does not require any kind of special technical skills. To do this, you need to connect the SD card to your computer, then go to My Computer and right-click on your SD card. Next open Properties -> Tools -> Check.

After a while, the scan will complete.

You need to remove the SD card in a safe way and restart the computer. That's it; re-connect your SD card and enjoy your data.

However, this method does not always help. Do not panic: this is not all that can be done with a damaged memory card.

After all these actions, it's time to use the command line to fix the SD card. Here's how it works:

Step 1.You need to insert the SD card in the slot in the computer.

Step 2.In the search bar, enter “cmd”. Press Enter and you will see the result "cmd.exe".

Step 3.Click "cmd.exe" and a line similar to this will appear: First line in cmd window.

Step 4.Type chkdsk [the drive letter]: parameter f or parameter r. This how it looks like: Check disk command fisrt version.

Pay attention! Letter d - is for an example, because the drive letter you choose yourself and there must be a space between “d:” and “/”

Then press Enter.

For reference:

Parametr f. - needs to correct errors on the hard disk.

Parametr r. - needs to correct the bad sectors on the hard disk.

As a result, the process of checking and correcting the file system of your SD card will begin. Then you should see the message “Windows made corrections to the file system” in the command window.

Congratulations, the SD card is fixed!

And besides, you saved all the data from it thanks to DiskInternals Uneraser.

What more can you want?

How to avoid this situation in the future

Here are some tips for using SD cards. If you follow them, you are unlikely to fall into a similar situation in the future.

  1. Buy proven brands of SD cards. Then you will have more of a guarantee that the data will not disappear.
  1. Practice safe removal. Never remove a memory card from your gadget in an unsafe way if you perform any actions. For example, delete, save, view, copy, etc.
  1. Charge the battery. If your gadget is on low battery power, it is better not to take or view new pictures, videos or documents. Always try to be aware of the battery status of your device.
  1. Extra-check. Check if the camera is on If the camera is turned on in your phone or camcorder, do not remove the memory card. Continue to make a video or do a photo shoot till the end and make sure your file is saved.

We hope this article was useful for you and will become a reference manual for how to behave if the SD card is damaged.

Good luck!

Hardware, Software and Other Features

Apple is not so big on hardware since they make their chips themselves. Following the development timeline, we have the A13 Bionic chip on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, manufactured with a 7nm+ process.
That is expected to compete against the likes of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855+ chipset, so you should expect all the power and performance efficiency possible from this one.
Storage options for the iPhone 11 Pro Max are the same as the 11 Pro with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB options on the table. Like the other phones released this year from Apple, the iPhone Pro Max version will carry 4GB of RAM too.
Since Apple devices are known to have better RAM management than most other units, this will not be a problem at all.
We are a little disappointed to see that the same 3190 mAh battery has been slapped on this device. Remember that this has a bigger screen to the iPhone 11 Pro, which means more energy will be consumed.
If the dark mode on iOS 13, chipset, and Apple’s ability to tune its devices are to be factored in, you expect good battery life on the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Speaking of the battery, there is Qi wireless charging technology to take advantage of, as well as 18W fast charging. To put that in context, the phone will reach 50% in just 30 minutes of charging.

Camera

If you had taken a look at the iPhone 11 Pro before, there is not much difference between the camera arrangement it brings and that of the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

On the front, all the three iPhone 11 devices have a single 12 megapixels shooter with an accompanying ToF 3D camera to make the dual setup.
The cameras on the back are not different on the two iPhone 11 Pro units either, you get three 12 megapixels snappers. The main camera offers a wide angle lens with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and Optical image stabilisation (OIS).
The second camera offers a telephoto lens with PDAF, OIS, and 2x Optical zoom, while the third camera offers an ultrawide angle lens.
The back cameras have a quad-LED flash with dual-tone to boost their low light operations, and we will soon see how great they are for the dedicated task.

Microsoft’s folding phone and dual-screen laptops

The Surface Pro X, the Surface Pro 7, the Surface Laptop 3 in 13.5-inch and 15-inch sizes, and the Surface Earbuds are new products of Microsoft announced on Wednesday that will be shipped this holiday season.
The two others, the Surface Neo computer, and the Surface Duo phone, are expected to be out next year. While Microsoft demonstrated them, we weren’t able to touch them or put them through their paces.
I had a chance to check out this year’s products. Here’s what you need to know:
 Surface laptop 3

Hear me out — I think this computer might be better than Apple’s latest MacBooks, and the main reason is the keyboard. It’s awesome and provides a much smoother typing surface than the MacBook Air (which I’m using right now). I also love that Microsoft ditched the soft fabric material on some models, instead of adding aluminum to the whole area around the keyboard. It looks sharp.
Plus, there’s an even larger trackpad, on par with a MacBook, more ports than Apple’s computers and a touchscreen. I love Apple devices, but this computer starts at $999 and it packs a punch. I prefer the 13.5-inch model to the 15-inch option because it’s more portable.
I’ll know more when I sit down for my final review, but I already think these offer better value than Apple’s current crop of laptops. Keep in mind, however, that Apple may launch a 16-inch MacBook Pro this fall, so Microsoft may not have the throne for long.
 Surface Pro X
I wish this was the Surface Pro 7. I’m a big fan of the slimmer design and the screen that runs almost edge-to-edge. I love that it promises 13 hours of battery life and cellular connectivity. The pen that hides right in the keyboard fold is really convenient. But it’s thin for a reason: this runs on a new SQ1 ARM-based processor that Microsoft built with Qualcomm. That means it’s running Windows for ARM instead of a full-blown version of Windows that can run all of the apps you know and love.

Microsoft has struggled to get more traditional Windows apps to work on the ARM version of Windows, but the company appears confident that developers will fill the gap with apps that people need. Adobe has been one partner on this front. I’ll need to wait until my full review to see. At $999, I want this device to run all of my apps.
 Surface Pro 7

There are three big updates here. The Surface Pro 7 can charge quickly (up to 90% in about an hour), it has a new USB-C port for attaching modern peripherals and it’s faster than last year’s model thanks to Intel’s 10th-generation chip. The design hasn’t changed much, but that’s OK. I still like the detachable keyboard, which is easy to navigate, and the really portable form factor. I just wish Microsoft would include the keyboard in its $799 starting price.
Surface Earbuds
They also look silly, like I tried to stuff two bottle caps in my ears. At least it includes USB-C for charging, instead of micro USB like Amazon’s new buds. In general, though, these feel like they should cost $99, not $250. Maybe we’ll get a break before they ship ahead of the holidays.

Tim Cook Apples CEO slams Trump’s immigration policy in Supreme Court filing

On the decision of President Trump to terminated DACA the Obama era program, which covers some immigrants without documentation from being deported was disagreed by Apple CEO Tim Cook.
″We are distressed at the prospect of ripping our DACA colleagues from the fabric of our company,” Cook and HR head Deidre O’Brien wrote in a friend-of-the-court brief. Apple said it employs 443 dreamers or people that DACA protects from deportation.
The Trump administration’s effort to terminate DACA is part of a broader effort to restrict immigration, whether it’s through family separation at the U.S.-Mexico border or the imposition of a travel ban from several majority Muslim countries to the U.S. DACA and other immigration topics remain a national focus and are likely to be core issues during the 2020 presidential campaign.
DACA deportations could cost the US economy over $400 billion, according to a 2017 study. Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft also oppose Trump’s policies.

Y9 prime is now in Nigeria market-HUAWEI PRODUCT.

A stunning smartphone with a panoramic viewing experience and an Auto Pop-up Selfie Camera
LAGOS, NIGERIA—July 10th, 2019—Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) has unveiled HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019, the latest Y Series device, a line of smartphones that caters to the younger generation to realize their true potential. The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 packs premium features and innovations which include a new and improved display and a revolutionary auto pop-up front camera.
Announced at a price of NGN83,900 the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 is a very compelling product especially in today’s video-centric social media landscape.
The all new Ultra FullView Display
Designed for users who demand the most out of their screens, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 boasts an all new Ultra FullView Display which is not interrupted by any notches creating a seamless viewing experience. Sized at a massive 6.59 inches with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 FHD+ and an aspect ratio of 19:5:9, the display is 91% pure screen estate, allowing users to enjoy a display like never before. The display is also capable of authentic and rich colors with a wide color gamut of 85%. Be it watching videos, browsing social media or any simple task, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 promises users with an immersive viewing experience without any interruptions.

However, a display like this can result in extensive usage. Huawei has taken care of this as well, thanks to the TÜV Rheinland’s certified Low Blue Light Eye Protection. The screen filters out harmful blue light emissions and intelligently adjusts color temperature and brightness to protect against eye strain. Additionally, when in low light situations, the screen brightness can also be brought down to 2 nits for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Distinctive Design
The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 boasts a design style that is divided in thirds. The upper third houses the Triple camera and fingerprint sensor, while the bottom two-thirds has a minimalistic look with a darker hue.

Even with its massive 6.59 inch bezel-less display, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 is still comfortable to hold and is complemented by the overall 3D Arc Design that shines like glass, while still being durable and shatter-resistant, making it both visually appealing and functional.
Auto Pop-up Selfie Camera
While most phones use the bezels and notches to house the front camera and various other sensors, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 uses clever and innovative design to hide these sensors, but the front camera position is a sign of Huawei’s innovative technologies. Seemingly invisible, the front camera is tucked away and will only appear when needed. Once the camera is turned on and selfie mode is selected, the front camera will pop-up automatically out of the top of the phone. Additionally, it also includes an intelligent protective feature that detects free falls and automatically retracts the lens as much as possible.

Housing a 16MP lens and supported by Huawei’s powerful AI, the Auto Pop-up Selfie Camera is capable of identifying up to eight scenarios for accurate scene and object recognition. The upgraded AI backlight imaging technology also fixes lighting concerns retaining stunning clarity and colors for stunning selfies. Additionally, users can also enjoy stunning studio effects in their selfies including 3D Portrait Lighting.
Innovative Triple Camera setup on the back
The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 packs a 16MP + 8MP + 2MP triple-camera on the back. Both the 16MP primary and 8MP secondary sensors feature a 6P (six-lens plastic array) design that reproduces minute details within an image and captures more photons. As a result, the phone empowers users to recreate scenes in their full complexity, with enhanced image clarity, contrast, and overall quality.

The 16MP primary camera’s F/1.8 aperture is a top performer, receiving 50% more light than the F/2.2 aperture that is more commonly seen on the market, as well as focusing more quickly and controlling noise more effectively. The 8MP sensor offers a 120° field of view that fits more within the frame and increases visual tension, creating a three-dimensional effect that is even more mesmerizing due to the bezel-less display. The 2MP sensor assists the primary camera in generating a lifelike depth of field in the photo, enabling SLR-quality images on a palm-sized handset. The powerful cameras also house a stunning Night Mode with AI Stabilization for low light photos and videos. The AI Stabilization also helps in shooting Super Slow-Motion videos at a stunning 480fps.
Powerful Performance
Under the hood, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 houses an Ultra Large 4000 mAh battery for extended periods of intensive use. The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 uses a Type-C port, which is smaller, faster and reversible. Additionally, you can still find the 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
Powered by the Kirin 710F chipset, the phone promises super smooth performance. The chipset is 30% more efficient than its predecessor and manages phone heating during complex resource allocation, saving battery life. The HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 runs Android 9.0 with the EMUI 9.0, which learns and analyzes user behavior which enables a more optimized user experience and has a 12.9% higher performance. The system is further optimized by F2Fs 2.0 (Flash-Friendly File System) and EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System), which provides better memory management, improving performance and speed. In terms of storage, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM and an Expanded Memory up to 512GB.
A Futuristic Gaming Experience*
In order to provide a more enhanced gaming experience, the HUAWEI Y9 Prime 2019 utilizes artificial intelligence to identify gaming scenarios and match them with real-life sensations.
