Auto Crashes Claim 31 In Osun

 accident_0
Mr  Muhammad Husaini,  the Osun Sector Commander of the FRSC, said on Monday that 31 deaths were recorded from road traffic crashes in the state between June and July.

Husaini made this disclosure while speaking to the News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
He also said that 36 road traffic crashes occurred within the period under review while  279 persons were involved.

Husaini  attributed the crashes to over speeding, poor condition of roads and failure by motorists to comply with road traffic rules and regulations.

“Some of the accidents recorded could have been avoided if the motorists were  driving within the speed limit.
“Most of the roads are not in good condition and if drivers were observing the speed limit, they would have the advantage of avoiding  ditches and potholes on the roads,” he said.
He, however, lauded the Osun government  for redressing the situation through road construction and rehabilitation.

Husaini called on motorists to observe road safety rules, vowing that  anyone caught violating the law would be apprehended and prosecuted (NAN)

Ebola Outbreak Traced To Toddler’s Contact With Infected Fruit Bat

 Fruit Bat
The largest-ever outbreak of Ebola was triggered by a toddler’s chance contact with a single infected bat, a team of international researchers have concluded after a major investigation of the origins of the deadly disease now ravaging Guinea, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
A group of 17 European and African tropical disease researchers, ecologists and anthropologists spent three weeks talking to people and capturing bats and other animals near the village of Meliandoua in remote eastern Guinea, where the present epidemic surfaced in December 2013.
They discovered that the disease was passed from colony to colony of migratory fruit bats until it reached Guinea. Their research is expected to be published in a major journal in the next few weeks.
Early studies suggested that a new strain of Ebola had emerged in west Africa but, according to epidemiologist Fabian Leendertz, it is likely the virus in Guinea is closely related to the one known as Zaire ebolavirus, identified more than 10 years ago in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Leendertz said the likelihood was that the virus had arrived in west Africa via an infected straw-coloured fruit bat. These bats migrate across long distances and are commonly found in giant colonies near cities and in forests.

Why I Hid In A Car Boot The First time I Was Going To Meet Genevieve Nnaji- Mercy Johnson

Mercy Johnson is one funny and truthful actress. While speaking with a soft sell magazine, Mercy revealed her first encounter with senior colleague, Genevieve Nnaji and how she had to hide in a car boot just because she was so nervous to meet her, even though she came there to see her. It’s so hilarious. Her words;
The first time I met her, my friend took me there. When we got to where she was, I became nervous. I told my friend “no let me hide in your boot.” And I did. I got into her boot. (laughs) Can you imagine I came to see her and when I got there I wanted to run back. I jumped into my friends boot. So, when she came out of the hotel, I could not see her, I could only hear her voice. Continue below...
The 2nd time I saw her was on set. When she came down and I met her she said ahh! Mercy I like your movies and I started crying. I was in tears of joy. I said Aunty Genevieve, so you watch my movies. She was sort of embarrassed. Before I met her, she had already known that there was somebody who was crazily insane about her. She was really nice to me, receptive. And even whenever we work together she will correct me and say that thing you did, you could have done it this way.

Usually, in life, you will know somebody, who is more than you. Give him or her that respect. You can’t fight a battle you can’t win. It does not make any sense. If somebody is much more than you, there is nothing as big as you admitting it, and hearing from that person. I didn’t come into the picture to compete with anybody. I didn’t come into the picture to rub shoulders or outshine anybody. I came to learn, do it well, make it and be there.

Maheeda Again! My Mother-In-Law Got Me A N*ked Modelling Job

Maheeda is in the news again. This time around she is defending why there’s no big deal in going n*ked, how her in-laws have accepted her, and how her mother in-law going as fas as getting her a n*ked modelling job.
Lol. But the most interesting part in all of this is that, her husband does not want his pictures splashed on the internet and warns her whenever she does that.
Her husband’s reaction when she puts up his picture online;
My husband doesn’t want to be in the limelight, he is a private person. Sometimes, I try to put his pictures, his reaction is don’t do that, I don’t want it.

 Then about her mother in-law getting her a n*kd modelling job, Maheeda says;

They are not bothered. In Holland, when it comes to TV commercials people almost go completely n*ked, so , me wearing pants, G-strings and all to them, have not even started because it is normal for them. Recently, my husband’s mother got me a modelling job and I’ll have to pose nude, she said you have to be n*ked and I am like of course.

Amosun Commends Doctors For Calling Off Strike

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has commended the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) over it’s decision to call off the nationwide strike it embarked on more than a month ago, in the overall interest of Nigerians.
Amosun made the commendation on Sunday, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on media, Mrs Olufunmilayo Wakama.
According to him, the decision could not have come at a better time when the nation is battling to curb the spread of the dreaded Ebola Virus, which he said is fast becoming an epidemic.
“People should always find amicable ways of resolving crisis. I want to commend the leadership of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), for having found a way round the issues that led to the industrial action in the first place.
“I am happy that the strike has been called off at this very crucial time, when the guidance and expertise of our medical personnel are most crucial in containing the Ebola Virus,” he said.
Amosun also commended the efforts of the NMA National President, Dr. Kayode Obembe, the Senate President, David Mark, as well as others who prevailed on the concerned parties for the favourable outcome.
He also expressed the hope that stakeholders would be able to find a final resolution of the dispute while negotiations continue.
