Why are some people able to write with both hands?

For most people, the brain’s left or right side is dominant. The left side of the brain controls movement on the right side of the body, while the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body. As a result, people whose brain is dominated by the
left side write with their right hands and vice versa. People with equally strong left and right brains are called ‘ambidextrous’. Those people-about I in 100 can do things like write, use scissors, and throw balls with both hands.

Woman Accused Of Killing Her Baby Jailed In The UK

A woman, Rosdep Adekoya has been jailed 11 years by an Edinburgh court in United Kingdom, after admitting in July that she repeatedly beat Kular  (her son) before stuffing his lifeless body into a suitcase.
Investigations revealed that she lost her temper and killed the toddler after he was repeatedly sick following a family day out at a Nando's restaurant last January.

Press Association report said, after discovering Kular's body on the floor of their Edinburgh home, she wrapped it in a duvet cover, concealed it in the suitcase and drove 25 miles to Fife to hide it in woodland.
In a bid to hide the crime from the police, Adekoya dialled 999 and reported her son missing. She finally broke down and admitted to police, revealing that: ''it was an accident and I panicked,” she said.
Read the rest of the story as reported by the Press Association:
Adekoya had earlier admitted to a separate charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice by pretending to police he had gone missing.
The court heard Adekoya's internet history showed searches including ''I find it hard to love my son'', ''Why am I so aggressive with my son'' and
''Get rid of bruises''.
Kular died on the night of Tuesday January 14 from injuries inflicted the previous Sunday following the restaurant outing.
He was smacked and struck on the body and head with a clenched fist after vomiting repeatedly.
Adekoya, a prisoner at Cornton Vale prison, Stirling, dragged him to the shower by his arms and ''beat him heavily on his back as he lay over the bath edge, causing internal damage.
"He was kept off nursery as his condition deteriorated and by Tuesday night he was 'listless.''
Advocate depute Alex Prentice told the court: ''He would have been in significant pain but was put to bed.
''The pain would have increased significantly while Mikaeel became dangerously ill ... finally dying as a result of the injuries inflicted upon him by the accused.
''It was during that night that he died."
She was charged with the murder, but pleaded guilty in order to have her charge reduced to culpable homicide at the High Court in Edinburg, where she was sentenced today.

'President Jonathan is not sick' - Presidency

Presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati has denied media reports that the president, who left for Germany on Friday August 22nd, is sick and is in Germany for medical checkup.

Abati said Jonathan traveled to Germany for a private visit and not because he is sick. He said the false report is being peddled by a newspaper outfit owned by a chieftain of an opposition party.
"Before leaving Nigeria, I issued a statement that the President will be embarking on a private visit to Germany with a few of his aides. On Saturday, I sent out a statement that the President spoke with the Falconets on the telephone. I also sent out the video and audio of his conversation with the players where he promised to stay awake and watch the final match. The NTA and some other broadcasting stations aired the video and audio. There are also photographs out there showing the President when he was leaving Nigeria and when he was arriving Germany. The President is hale and hearty. In fact, he is treating files in his hotel room. Are these not enough proofs that Mr. President is not sick as they want Nigerians to believe? It is important to note that the publisher of the newspaper that has been writing this false report is a chieftain of an opposition party who also have an ambition to be President.” Abati said...

Auto Crashes Claim 31 In Osun

 accident_0
Mr  Muhammad Husaini,  the Osun Sector Commander of the FRSC, said on Monday that 31 deaths were recorded from road traffic crashes in the state between June and July.

Husaini made this disclosure while speaking to the News Agency of  Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
He also said that 36 road traffic crashes occurred within the period under review while  279 persons were involved.

Husaini  attributed the crashes to over speeding, poor condition of roads and failure by motorists to comply with road traffic rules and regulations.

“Some of the accidents recorded could have been avoided if the motorists were  driving within the speed limit.
“Most of the roads are not in good condition and if drivers were observing the speed limit, they would have the advantage of avoiding  ditches and potholes on the roads,” he said.
He, however, lauded the Osun government  for redressing the situation through road construction and rehabilitation.

Husaini called on motorists to observe road safety rules, vowing that  anyone caught violating the law would be apprehended and prosecuted (NAN)
