Don Jazzy Says we need more song writters

Nigerian music mogul and producer, Don Jazzy who’s been in the Nigerian music industry for decades has said that the industry needs more songwriters than it needs artistes.
It’s no news that in the Nigerian entertainment scene, music artistes have the highest number of entertainers than any other entertaining categories like acting, poetry, comedy and all.

Why I didn't sign up any artiste-9ice

According to him, signing an artiste comes with challenges, including realities on investment returns, that could leave the label and the artiste locking horns when the latter wants out.
“When veterans take up new artistes, there’s always issues like arguments which cause the artiste to leave, willingly or unwillingly. That’s the reason why I never officially signed any artist,” 9ice said.
“What I did with them was, ‘I have a label, come under this platform. If you have a song that I feel is good enough, I ‘ll support you, we’ll shoot the video and get it promoted.’ I mean, do your thing!
“When you feel you’re ripe enough to stand alone, I let you go. Signing artistes take a lot. They can claim their own right saying, ‘I’ve been under this label for long and they ‘re doing nothing for me.’

Teni opens up on why Aliko dangote and Femi Otedola was mentioned in her songs

Teni Apata, popularly known as Teni the entertainer, is one singer who often mentions the names of prominent people in her songs.

In the past, Teni had mentioned the names of business tycoons such as Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola in her songs, which made the songs more popular and acceptable.

In an encounter with Sunday Scoop, the award-winning singer explained why she often called people’s names in her music. “I grew up being exposed to a lot of culture and one essential part of that is praise-singing people. I decided to incorporate that practice into my songs so that people could relate more with them,” she said.

Contrary to what many believe that Teni’s Billionaire EP is all about the brazen pursuit of money, the plump singer said the title song and EP were centred on encouraging people to live their best lives. She stated, “This project basically encourages people to lead their best lives, achieve their dreams and generally enjoy what life has to offer. No doubt, life has its challenges, but sometimes, one just needs to take a break and enjoy it.”

On the misconceptions people have about her, the cheerful singer said, “I don’t really know the misconceptions that people have about me but I try to be myself at all times. Being real is the best thing one can do in this world.”

“When we do music, we do music so that people can be happy, so when we do a song together, what are we doing, what are we encouraging? that’s the most important questions when i do collaborations. there is an aim.” she added.
Although the two singers don’t say it in clear terms, it is apparent there is a silent rivalry between them.

Burna Boy speaks up on Xenophobia and he isn’t holding back he joined the other celebrities talking about it.
The ‘African Giant’ reacted bitterly and angrily pouring out his mind; he called out AKA, MI and also vowed not to step foot in South Africa ever.
Ok. I have been away from social media personally until today. Ordinarily at a time like this, I should come here and say something to try and calm the situation because my Dream has always been to Unite AFRICA and make us realise that Together we will Literally rule the world…
But Today After watching the Killing of my people in South Africa the same way we have all watched it happen a few times in the past. FUCK ALL THAT! I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that…..
I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990),[3] better known by his stage name Wizkid (sometimes stylised as WizKid), is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He started recording music at age 11 and managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, he signed a record deal with Banky W.'s record label Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E). He rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of the song "Holla at Your Boy" from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011). "Tease Me/Bad Guys", "Don't Dull", "Love My Baby", "Pakurumo" and "Oluwa Lo Ni" were also released as singles from the Superstar album. Wizkid's self-titled second studio album, Ayo, was released in September 2014 and was preceded by six singles: "Jaiye Jaiye", "On Top Your Matter", "One Question", "Joy", "Bombay" and "Show You the Money". In 2016, Wizkid achieved international recognition following his collaboration with Drake on the global hit, "One Dance", which reached number one in 15 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. In addition to his solo work, Wizkid has collaborated with several other artists and was featured on the hits "Girl" (with Bracket), "Fine Lady" (with Lynxxx), "Sexy Mama" (with Iyanya), "Slow Down" (with R2Bees), "The Matter" (with Maleek Berry), "Pull Over" (with KCee) and "Bad Girl" (with Jesse Jagz).
Following the release of his second studio album and expiration of his 5-year recording contract, Wizkid left E.M.E. On 1 March 2017, Billboard magazine reported that Wizkid signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records.[4] The deal was first reported by several media outlets in September 2016.[5] The chairman and CEO of RCA Records, Peter Edge, somewhat confirmed the signing while speaking to Music Business Worldwide in January 2017.[6]
He was ranked 5th on Forbes and Channel O's 2013 list of the Top 10 Richest/Bankable African Artists.[7][8] In February 2014, Wizkid became the first ever Nigerian musician to have over 1 million followers on Twitter.[9][10]
