"Till date, we have recorded eight suspected cases, five of which came in yesterday August 19th, 12 confirmed. On the whole, five have died (including the index case). We are currently following up 213 contacts, and 62 have completed the two-day follow-up,” Dr Jide said
Dr. Idris used the opportunity to pay tribute to late Dr Ameyo Adadevoh and other health workers who have so far died from the Ebola virus disease. Continue...
"She, (Dr. Adadevoh) it was, who took the initiative to intimate the Ministry concerning the index case – Liberian-American (Mr. Patrick Sawyer) and substantially to her credit the moderate containment achieved is owed. She led the team who attended to the index case. Her doggedness and commitment to duty saw her personally reviewing the case even though the patient had earlier been seen by a doctor. The Ministry of Health commiserates with their families, co-workers, friends and loved ones on these irreparable losses which was on the line of duty,” he said

How to build up your six packs

For six-pack abs one needs to strengthen the abdominal muscles and lose body fat. Unfortunately there is no escaping cardiovascular exercise and weight (or resistance) training to lose weight in a healthy way.

In order to strengthen the abs, you will have to follow exercises related to both, the abdomen and the back. There are different types of crunches and other abdominal exercises that focus on the entire abdomen, from the upper to the lower sections. These exercises are ideal to strengthen your abdominal muscles.

A few exercises you must perform in a Warrior Abs workout are:
  • Heavy strength training (especially squatting & especially front squatting)
  • Unilateral exercises (single arm pressing & pulling variations, suitcase deadlifts)
  • Standing or kneeling pulling & pressing exercise variations
  • Olympic lift variations & combo exercises/complexes
  • Weighted sled work (pushing & pulling variations)

Hence it is important to build up your abdominal muscles and here’s how you can do it!

Woman has 4 babies in 9 months after triplets were conceived just weeks after the birth of her first child

29 year old British woman Sarah Ward gave birth to four children in a space of nine months after falling pregnant with triplets just weeks after she gave birth to her first child.

Her son Freddie was only nine months old when she and her partner Benn Smith, were shocked to discover they had triplets on the way. They later welcomed two boys - Stanley and Reggie and a girl, Daisy. Describing life since being the mother of four little children Sarah Ward said 'At times it feels more like running a nursery than a home but we feel blessed'. Continue...

‘I was stunned when I found out I was pregnant again so soon. When we learned it was triplets we went into shock.
‘At times it’s utter chaos but we just laugh and get stuck in. It takes two hours to prepare to leave the house but we don’t dwell on the hard work. I love babies so I feel like the luckiest mum in the world.’ - the mum of four said..
Miss Ward had tried to conceive for more than a year and was due to see a GP for tests when she became pregnant with Freddie. So after he was born in June last year, the couple did not use birth control.
"We wanted to have at least two children. Because it had taken so long with Freddie, we assumed it would take the same time again, if not longer.’ - Miss Ward said
In fact, Freddie was only eight weeks old when she learned she was expecting.
‘I started shaking. I had barely recovered from having Freddie. I was still wearing maternity clothing. I was wondering how on earth I was going to cope.’
A scan at 12 weeks revealed Miss Ward was expecting fraternal triplets.
‘The sonographer paused and asked if we knew how many babies we were having. Our mouths fell open because we thought she was telling us it was twins.
‘When she said triplets I nearly fell off the bed in shock. Neither of us could speak as she turned the screen to us and pointed out three little wriggling shapes. I just started crying when I realized they would be born before Freddie was one.’ she said

Ebola: Safety for health workers directly in line of danger

TVC NEWS [ABUJA]- The deadly Ebola virus continues to take its toll in West Africa and no one is immune
People get infected through close contact with an infected person, family member or friend and those most vulnerable are the caregivers
especially health workers who have to deal with stabilizing and treating the infected.
Now the question is how much is being done by Governments to guarantee the safety of these health workers who are putting their lives on the line to do their jobs.
Kemi Balogun takes a look at this critical issue making the rounds and reports that since the Ebola outbreak began in March this year, over 900 people have died from the disease in these countries: Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and also Nigeria.
Once a person gets infected they have a 60 to 90 percent chance of dying and so far a considerable fraction of the dead have been that of health workers.
According to the center of diseases control and prevention(CDC), over a hundred (100) health care workers have been infected and about half of that number have died from the virus.
Among the dead, is one of sierra leone's top Ebola doctor,Sheik Khan who was dedicated to fighting and stopping its spread.
Two American doctors kent Bradley and nancy writebol have also been infected by the disease and are currently undergoing treatment in
Atlanta,US.
The US have also sent an additional 50 health workers to help fight the disease in west Africa.
Laiatu Balogun is a retired nurse she had worked in the health service for about 32 years.
She tells us how they had coped with epidemics back in the days and what should be put in place to safe guard the lives of other health workers now
She believes there are easy methods to protecting ones self while treating a patient who is suspected to be carrying the virus even before
the diagnosis
Nigeria's health minister says they will need a lot of funds in order to acquire safety kits for the health workers as well as build safe centers
for those infected
With health workers being mostly in the fore front of most epidemics and outbreaks.
The world health organization says that:
Health-care workers caring for patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola virus should apply, in addition to standard precautions, other
infection control measures to avoid any exposure to the patient's blood and body fluids and direct unprotected contact with the possibly
contaminated environment. When in close contact (within 1 metre) of patients with EBV, health-care workers should wear face protection (a
face shield or a medical mask and goggles), a clean, non-sterile long-sleeved gown, and gloves (sterile gloves for some procedures).
