According to a report on Idiva.com, health experts have continued to emphasise on the importance of fitness and exercise even while a pregnant woman is about to pop out.
According to Shalini Bhargava, Performance-Enhancement Coach at JG’S Fitness Centre in Mumbai “If you were really active before your pregnancy, stay so. If you weren’t, now is a great time to start.”
Most doctors support physical activity during pregnancy.

Dr. Rita Bakshi, Gynecologist & Fertility Expert, International Fertility Centre, New Delhi, adds, “Exercising during pregnancy is important to be healthy and enable an easy delivery. It is the best way to ensure you have a safe and healthy pregnancy.”
For Ms. Shruti Saxena, Childbirth Educator at Mamma Mia Maternity Services, she explains, “It’s beneficial to work out during the entire nine months. Early pregnancy exercise improves the growth of the baby and decreases maternal symptoms, while late pregnancy exercise maintains fitness, limits weight gain and shortens labour. A lesser known benefit of exercise is the release of hormone endorphins – our natural relaxant, helping the mother stay calm and happy.”
So, here are 10 exercises that pregnant women can do without much trouble:

1. Walking:
Walking is a great way to become physically fit. If you have not been a fit person, then start with slow walks that are less strenuous to the body.
Though some women might face trouble with walking due to swollen feet as they move forward in their pregnancy, but other than that walking is safe.
Dr. Bakshi says, “Expecting women can start with slow walks for a cardiovascular workout. Walking for a few minutes every day is safe and easy.”
“30 minutes of walking three days a week is a good routine. However, during pregnancy, you’ll need to scale back on the intensity,” says Bhargava.Remember to walk on smooth surfaces that are free of potholes. Wear appropriate walking shoes and avoid crowded places.
Bhargava suggests, “Walking on the treadmill is ideal since you can control the terrain. Add moderate hills when you’re up to it; go flat when you’re not or if hills trigger calf cramps. If you’re a runner, let your body tell you when it’s time to switch to walking.”2. Dancing:Dancing is a fun way of staying fit. This is also one form of exercise that a pregnant woman and her baby will truly enjoy if you like to shake a leg. “Don’t worry if it’s not pregnancy specific, it’s fine to keep going, as long as you pay attention to how your body feels and limit your intensity. Stay within the normal range of motion and tell your instructor you’re pregnant so that she can advice modifications wherever necessary,” adds Ms Bhargava.
3. Swimming:
Swimming is another fun way to workout, especially for women who love being in the water.
Dr. Bakshi says, “Swimming is good and has less chances of mishaps. Plus, exercising in water does not put pressure on your joints.”
Although, you might want to choose a stroke that will not cause trouble with your back, shoulders or neck. Diving and jumping should also be avoided.

Doing Pilates throughout your pregnancy will help keep you relaxed during delivery.
Shalini who is a Pilates instructor explains, “It helps maintain your abdominal muscle tone, which will support your growing belly, minimise back pain and give you more oomph for pushing during labor.
Although some mat classes can be problematic after the first trimester due the pressure on the back.
“Best to opt out of these exercises or use an angled foam spine support (found in most Pilates studios but not many gyms),” she suggests.
This will keep your head higher than your belly. You can still do the side-lying leg work, upper-body exercises and stretches. Try and avoid strenuous inversions, arm balance movements, and lying on your back.
5. Weight Lifting:
Most women who visit the gym do weight lifting which helps strengthen the core muscles. Pregnant women too can practice weight lifting in moderation.
Dr. Bakshi says, “Weight lifting prepares you body for the liftings you will do once the baby arrives and strengthens the muscles near the joints. But if you don’t feel comfortable don’t push yourself too hard.”
6. Kegel Exercises:
Named after the gynecologist who created them, Kegel exercises strengthen the muscles in the base of the pelvis.
Ms Saxena says, “You can do Kegels sitting, standing, or lying down. You can do them in your car, at a meeting, or over coffee with a friend!”
Your body produces a hormone called relaxin during pregnancy. This hormone softens joints and ligaments to make the birth process easier, so gentle stretching is recommended after you workout. However, be cautious of over extending the joints as this may result in an injury, which could be permanent.
7. Indoor bicycling:
Peddling is good for circulation and increases oxygen and nutrients that the baby receives.
“The recumbent and upright bikes are both good options. Many women like the back support the recumbent offers, though in the third trimester your belly might get in the way of your knees,” says Shalini.

No matter which side of the body-hair debate you fall on, there is one fact that stands: Many women in the world choose to keep their bodies shaved. We pull out our razors regularly (especially in this heat) to keep our arms and legs smooth. Now, whether that's because of societal pressure or something we do because it makes us feel good is a debate for another time. The aspect of this whole back-and-forth that we were most interested in learning about was how women feel about their razors—and what they would do if they couldn't use them for a whole 14 days.
After all, most of the ladies who choose to remove their hair go the razor route. Why? It's the cheapest, it's the most convenient, and you can do it in the comfort of your own home. Yes, this grooming tool is the clear winner in the battle against stubble. So we posed a no-shave challenge to four of our staffers who rely on razors to keep themselves smooth. Three of them were given other methods of hair removal to test-drive, like waxing and depilatory creams, and one was told she had to go completely natural for those two weeks.

1. Being a mother, one of the ultimate expressions of womanhood, can often leave a girl feeling stri*ped of her femininity. There is something about being covered in spit up and attending to the every need of another human being that makes one feel distinctly gender neutral. Most of my days are spent playing with dolls, wiping baby food off of my clothes, changing diapers, wiping snot off of my clothes, going to the park, and wiping what-the-heavens-is-that off of my clothes. There is something restorative about kissing the boy you love. There are times in Riley’s arms when I remember who I am before I even realize I have forgotten. Yes, I am a cook, cleaner, teacher, and wiper of all things disgusting. But I am also something more, something delightful and completely apart from my roles. I am a woman! And there is potential and depth and heck, I am pretty darn good kisser, too. It is a lovely thing, finding yourself through the touch of someone else.
2. If you want your husband to act like a man, you need to treat him like a man. Hold the eye rolls. I am not pushing for a return to the 1950′s. (Although, heaven knows an era in which low rise jeans did not exist is basically alright by me.) Women need any number of criteria met to feel loved. Men are far simpler. They need to be fed, they need to be appreciated, and they need to have s*x. That is it. Really. So make or order dinner once in a while. Say thank you for the long hours spent at work with a hug and smile when he walks through the door each night. (Better yet? Smile as you hand him the kids and walk out the door for a long, much needed break.) And my goodness, let the poor man see you unclad. It is astounding what a good man will do for a good woman that has made him feel loved. After a few weeks of meals and make outs, you will sit back and wonder why you didn’t insist on having s*x every night sooner. Talk about a small investment and big returns.
3. You need to have a moment in each day that is just about the two of you. Remember that boy? The one that made your heart thump and hands sweat? The one that called when you hoped he would, that made you run hot and high up to the stars until you thought you would never come down? He is still there. I can let off steam by A) driving around at night and bashing in strangers mailboxes or B) I can get down and dirty with that one guy I married that one time. I choose option B. (So far the mailboxes in my neighborhood have escaped unscathed, so Option B must be working.)
5. It is so much blasted fun. Seriously. Why are we so quick to refuse the good things in life? We will slog through our children’s Algebra homework, do Zumba in public and pluck the hair from our body ONE PIECE AT A TIME. But tell a girl to have s*x every night and she looks at you like you are crazy, An climax? Every night? What do I look like? A Nympho maniacal Super Woman?
Where is the logic in that?
Are we really too busy doing dishes to participate in an activity that is so good it has inspired genius (that saucy Shakespeare) and changed history (Okay, Helen of Troy, we get it. You were super hot)? My goodness, what a crazy way to live. Ladies, did it ever occur to you (to us!) that we should have s*x because WE DESERVE IT?
Yeah, you deserve it.
So, tonight put the kids to bed. Leave the dishes in the sink and the floors Un swept. They will wait. Take a moment to remember that you are the girl you hoped you would be and then go find that boy and remind him that he is the man you knew he could be.

We will slog through our children’s Algebra homework, do Zumba in public and pluck the hair from our body ONE PIECE AT A TIME. But tell a girl to have s*x every night and she looks at you like you are crazy, An climax? Every night? What do I look like? A Nympho maniacal Super Woman?
Where is the logic in that?
Are we really too busy doing dishes to participate in an activity that is so good it has inspired genius (that saucy Shakespeare) and changed history (Okay, Helen of Troy, we get it. You were super hot)? My goodness, what a crazy way to live. Ladies, did it ever occur to you (to us!) that we should have s*x because WE DESERVE IT?
Yeah, you deserve it.
So, tonight put the kids to bed. Leave the dishes in the sink and the floors Un swept. They will wait. Take a moment to remember that you are the girl you hoped you would be and then go find that boy and remind him that he is the man you knew he could be.

This image may not be entirely real because there are a few things you can do in your daily life, or maybe weekly life, which have the ingredients of a good workout without necessarily being one. Many of these chores are left entirely up to domestic help, but there is no reason for us not to make them part of our weekly routines, if only just to ingrain more activity into our busy schedules.

However, we are not suggesting that you replace regimented strength and cardio workouts with the following five activities. This post is meant to encourage daily chores or activities that offer variations in your body's activity levels, and not offer any alternatives to real workouts.

1)
Clean your house: Start with your bedroom. Re-arrange furniture, pick things up, bend, squat, lift heavy things. Cleaning your house and re-arranging furniture has all the elements of a good gym session though you may not even know it. This may not be a weekly routine, but it can certainly be made part of something you do on a regular basis, when you have time to yourself at home. Not to mention, this one is truly therapeutic with good music to keep you moving.

2) Play with your kids: 
Anything goes. Your kids will truly love it and there will be no dearth of action. Pillow fights, go to a park and throw a ball around, go to a pool and have races, and of course ask the kids for more ideas. Physical playtime is a great workout and also an unparalleled family bonding time.

3) Bathe your dog: 
Even better, bathe your cat. If you have a larger dog, or a cat, you will know what a great exercise it is. First the battle to hold on firm, the usage of your body weight to get the upper hand, the scrubbing, the rinsing, and then the drying. All the while holding on to dear life. If this isn’t a workout, then we don't know what is!

4) Walk in a mall: 
Ladies, the ideal workout! For the men, a nice way to spend time in a mall while your better half disappears. Of course the idea is to walk, climb stairs, and keep a decent pace.  Walking is a good exercise to stay active and to stay on your feet more.

5) Go on a hike:
This one's clearly not for people well encased within miles and miles of metro city traffic. But perhaps even city dwellers can find some park, nearby town, or natural feature to visit over weekends? Try and incorporate hiking into your weekend activity. Sunday’s are a great day to take off outside the city and spend time hiking, climbing a hill. Take a picnic basket and soak in all the vitamin D that you have missed out on during the week.

Jilted lover walks in front of train driven by girlfriend who left him 3 weeks ago

A jilted lover killed himself by standing in front of a train driven by his ex-girlfriend, it emerged last night. Gary Wells, 36 (left), was said to be distraught after splitting from Diane MacDonald, 29 (right), three weeks ago. Miss MacDonald was powerless to prevent a collision after he stepped on to the track in front of the train she was driving on one of Britain’s most scenic rail routes.
Mr Wells died instantly as he was hit by the train. 

Miss MacDonald, the first woman train driver on the West Highland Line in Scotland, was left so distressed that she required sedation after the tragedy, which happened at Inverlochy, near Fort William, on Tuesday morning. Continue…


Mr Wells had been in a long-term relationship with Miss MacDonald but friends said their relationship ended around three weeks ago.
Sources said the break-up had left Mr Wells struggling to cope.
Last night, a school friend told how Mr Wells was a devoted father whose weekends were spent with his son Lewis, who was from a previous relationship.
The friend, who did not wish to be named, said: ‘Gary was a nice guy.
‘He and Diane were like peas in a pod. They were together for eight or nine years and split up a few weeks ago. I can’t believe he did this. I heard Diane had to be sedated.
‘It’s so sad. He loved spending time with his son Lewis. His weekends were devoted to him.’
Mr Wells is thought to have been working at a local engineering company and had previously worked some evenings and weekends as a pub bouncer.
His family was too distressed yesterday to talk about what happened. In a statement, Miss MacDonald said last night: ‘The circumstances are extremely upsetting for everyone involved. We would ask the media to please respect our privacy while we come to terms with what has happened.’

Body Of Man Murdered By Girlfriend In Dubai Handed Over To Family

The body of the Arab man, who was stabbed by his European girlfriend in the early hours of Saturday for not marrying her after a four- year relationship, has been handed over to his family.
A security source at Dubai Police said that the operations room received a call from a European woman, saying there was a person who had been stabbed in her apartment in Al Nahda area.

Police found the 38-year-old Arab man with multiple stab wounds lying on the bed. The European woman, 32, who was his girlfriend, then confessed that she had stabbed him and tried to commit suicide but she could not.
The woman confessed to being the man's girlfriend and that they had been in a relationship for four years.

She is currently awaiting trial.
