The line-up of hangout participants drawn from diverse industries and political persuasions further buttresses the Unity and Peace initiative by the House on the Rock Church, The American Embassy and the Rock Foundation. 2Face Idibia, Gbenga Sesan and others connected to the hangout from Lagos, NewYork, South Africa, Dubai, France and beyond as they deliberated on the need for national peace regardless of personal sentiments before, during and after the 2015 general elections.
The hangout covered several topics and communication patterns were one of the topics looked at. “Politicians need to watch what they say and their body languages so they do not incite others and create some unwanted sentiments” award winning artiste, 2Face Idibia noted.

Gbenga Sesan, Managing Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria added that hate speeches have no business on air in the first place.  According to him, people who default, irrespective of their statuses should be punished and brought to book.
Stephen, who joined in from the South of France felt that the NCC need to do their jobs better and not allow hate filled adverts go on air or print.
Mukthar stressed that the electorate need to understand that the only power they have in a democracy such as Nigeria’s, is who they decide to make as their leader.  He added sadly that for some people, their votes mean nothing to them so they are willing to trade it for a cup of rice.
Participants all spoke passionately and intelligently, ending the hangout on a note of peace advising that the elections do not mean war, everyone in his or her own little way is an influencer and if we all pushed for peace, a change will come.
Other public figures, scheduled to join in on the discussion but couldn’t due to technical difficulties include veteran actress Ireti Doyle and singer, Yinka Davies. Ireti  Doyle, however sent in some comments and advised that the Nigerian citizens should refuse to feed the enemy and be violent free, she added that regardless of candidate or party choice, peace ought to reign.
All is set and ready to go for the exclusive premiere of the award winning American drama, Selma happening at the House on The Rock Church today. Follow the stories and pictures live from the Red Carpet and Press Conference on social media using the hashtag #United4Peace. ''I Want to Have a Child Now'' - 21 year old Singer Tekno

Augustine Kelechi aka Tekno shot into limelight with the release of the hit singles, Onyenekwu and Holiday. The twenty-one-year old budding star speaks about the current trend of Nigerian musicians raising children outside wedlock in a new interview with Spice. Excerpts:
  • Fame, money and women, how do you handle the three?
If your hustle is like mine, you will handle the three well. I have a mother who constantly guides me. I have a younger brother in school and a family I take care of. There is no time to be carried away by
fame, alcohol and women. It does not matter if I sang one of the biggest songs in 2014 .I have to make another hit or I would become irrelevant.
  • Are you dating?
I don’t have a girlfriend.
  • Musicians are raising children outside wedlock. Can you do same?
Yes, I can. Marriage is beautiful but I have seen people marry and divorce. Irrespective of the fact that my parents have an amazing union, I don’t want to get married now. I will get married between the ages of 35 and 38 but I want to have a child now.
The question is why are celebrities fathering kids without marriage???

Aisha Buhari, Dolapo Osinbajo Tell Women Positive Change Is Around The Corner

The wives of APC’s presidential aspirant and vice, Mrs Aisha Buhari and Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo have thanked Owerri APC women for supporting the party at large and also told them a positive change is around the corner. While speaking to them at the South East zonal APC’s women’s convention yesterday in Owerri, Mrs Buhari also encouraged the women to go out in their numbers to obtain their PVC’s because it is the only way the needed change can come.
“Positive change is on the way, but you can only enjoy this change if you collect your permanent voters’ cards and vote for APC candidates in all the upcoming elections.

“Do not be swayed by cheap incentives from politicians who will only perpetuate corruption; your vote is your might, use it wisely,” she said.

The wife of the vice-presidential candidate, Mrs Osinbajo, while addressing the women said that the people of the South East had made sacrifices in the past with no commensurate benefit, but if APC is elected in, the trend would change.
