Davido is my boy

Gbagbe Oshi singer, Davido, has been involved in so many controversies that people have lost count of them. However, many would still remember that sometime in 2015, it was reported that the self-acclaimed Omo Baba Olowo joined muscles with his driver to ruthlessly beat up his fellow artiste, MC Galaxy, at his house in Lekki. Even though Davido later came out to say it was his boys and not him that beat up Galaxy, the Komolop Cholop crooner has never spoken about the episode.

But in a recent chat with Sunday Scoop, the comedian and singer laid his mind bare. He said, “Davido is my boy and I cannot fight him. We are friends and friends have issues once in a while and move on afterwards. We cannot fight each other and our relationship is still tight.”

On the Davido and Hushpuppi debacle where both parties argued about who spends the most money in clubs, Galaxy said, “Spending in clubs depends on my mood. I spend a lot of money without noise. I’m more of a businessman and I have a lot of ventures that I’m involved in but it’s private. It’s not everything you put out on social media.”The sekem singer have interests in acting but I’m taking my time and I’m focusing on my music for now. But by the grace of God, I will be able to do something in movies soon. I’m seriously working on my album right now and it would be released in a few months. I’m thinking of 10 tracks and the name of the album is MMM which means Money Making Machine. I will be working mostly with international acts and some African artistes,” he said.
Galaxy also stated that he has a cordial relationship with a lot of politicians in the country. He said, “I’m close to almost all the governors in the country but I’m not a politician and I don’t want a political appointment.”
Shedding light on why he usually sponsors dance, music and comedy competitions, he said, “I used to partake in lots of competitions in the past and that’s why I’ve decided to support other people now that I have the wherewithal.”

Photos: 21-year-old stunning Maldivian model and medical student who appeared on Vogue commits suicide

Raudthif Athif, a 21-year-old international model and medical student from Maldives, who appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine was found dead in a hostel dormitory in Bangladesh on Wednesday, March 29th.
Athif became an internet sensation in the Maldives in 2014 after she posted a shoot online called the "Maldivian Girl With Aqua Blue Eyes"...

Her body was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan by her classmates. The student of Rajshahi Islami Bank Medical College, was buried on Saturday after the autopsy report ruled her death a suicide.

Her family buried her at Hetom Khan Cemetery with the help of local police and Quantum Foundation..

The funeral was attended by her family, classmates and Aishath Shakir, ambassador from the Maldives, according to Enayet Kabir Milon, a Quantum Foundation spokesperson.

Prof Emdadul Haque, a member of the autopsy team, said: “There was no evidence of sexual or any other kind of abuse on her body. We have sent samples to Dhaka for further testing to determine if she had ingested any pills. However, at this point, we are certain that this was a suicide.”

Prof Emdadul, who also teaches at the medical college, said that he had never taught Raudha but knew that her parents were divorced.

He declined to comment on why she may have committed suicide, saying: “The college authorities and the police are conducting their separate investigations. We will know more when they make their findings public.”

Senior Assistant Commissioner (AC) Iftekhar Alam of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police said:
"After the autopsy was done on Friday, Raudha’s family was still undecided as to where she was going to be buried. On Saturday morning, her father Mohammad Athif told the police that they had decided to bury her in Rajshahi and asked the police to make the necessary arrangements.

“In line with their request, we arranged for her burial through the Quantum Foundation. We did not ask why she was not taken back to her own country for burial.”
AC Iftekhar also said the Maldives consulate had taken permission from the Foreign Ministry to bury Raudha at Rajshahi.

Raudha’s father Mohammad Athif lives in India, and her mother Aminath Muharmimath lives in the Maldives.

College spokesperson Abdul Aziz said that Raudha’s tuition fees were paid on time through an intermediary account, but they did not know which one of her parents paid the fees.

"Raudha’s family took her clothes, books, and other items as memento from her room at the girls’ dorm. The family will be leaving for the Maldives on Sunday." Abdul added.

Born on May 18, 1996, Raudha had been living at the college dorm since January 14, 2016. The rising model described modelling as a hobby for her sometime last year,

"Modelling is a hobby rather than a career for me, since I 'm studying to become a doctor," she told Vogue India when they photographed her last year along with six models from six nations of the Indian subcontinent to grace their cover.

"I 've never been so bold as to take part in any big pageant before this.. Becoming a doctor to help people has always been my dream"

Placenta Stolen and cooked

A couple in China who reside in Anhui City, were furious when they found out that a hospital had failed to keep the new mother's placenta and that it had been stolen by a cleaner in the hospital. The woman's husband, Lu Yanggang said his wife went into labour and gave birth to a baby boy at Wuxing Subdistrict Community Health Service Centre in Changzhou on the afternoon of March 24, then they told the hospital staff that they wanted the placenta so they could bury it in their home town in line with their village's culture
.
He said they were told to come back for the placenta later as it would have to be sent for inspection.

On getting back the placenta was already stolen.
Lu said to the reporters:
'The doctor says we took it and obviously we didn't. Then we asked who they gave it to and the doctor replied saying a cleaner took it away.'
The parents had asked the cleaner to return it to them but were shocked to find that the cleaner had already cooked and eaten it.

Lu's mother said:
' I found the cleaner and asked her about the placenta. She admitted to me she had already made soup with it and eaten it.' The family were furious and shouted at members of staff at the hospital.
However a spokesperson from the hospital denied that the couple requested to keep the placenta and treated it as medical waste, reports Huanqiu, an affiliation with the People's Daily Online.

Dr Li Wenwu, deputy head of the service centre explained that new parents can only take away the placentas after it is has been cleared of any pathological diseases.
Dr. Wenwu said:
'Mrs Lu gave birth on Friday afternoon and normally we will keep the placenta when waiting for blood test results. But her results came early on Saturday and we have checked that she did not request to take away, so we treated the placenta as medical waste and bin it.'
He also added that during the process, a cleaner took the placenta away from the bin.

Dr Li admitted this incident had revealed a faulty system in the safe keeping of placentas. He said there was a lack of education with hospital staff on medical values.

Human placentas, also called as 'Ziheche' in Chinese medicine, claim to have high nutritious value. It is thought to stop post-natal depression.  It is also claimed to cure premature ejaculation for men.

While some people believe that the high content of hormones and protein can improve a person's skin.

Chinese doctors kick against buying of placentas that have not being verified properly.
The spokesperson for the hospital said the cleaner had already been reported to Wuxing Street police station and both parties have agreed to settle out of court.
