A 12-year-old girl has delivered a baby after being impregnated by a boyfriend, eight years older than her, in Ukraine.
The unnamed girl of Roma origin went in labor at the landfill near the city of Rivne, western Ukraine, and was urgently hospitalized.

The girl had been impregnated by her 20-year-old boyfriend. Reports say she did not understand what was going on after starting having contractions.

Frightened and screaming in pain, she was spotted by a landfill guard who called an ambulance.

The girl was rushed to Rivne Maternity Hospital where doctors helped her to deliver a baby son on Saturday, September 14th. The process was difficult and lasted ten hours, medics said.

Doctor Olena Sadova said to local media: 'A child gave birth to a child. I'm still in a deep shock when thinking about that.

'The pregnant girl was asocial and extremely dirty. She was scared and did not realize what was happening to her.

'The birth-giving lasted ten hours and it was emotionally hard for everybody. We all cried after.'

The European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee has raised questions about Portuguese Commissioner Elisa Ferreira, as the former vice-governor of Banco de Portugal holds shares in the Sonae group.

Parliamentary sources have told Lusa that the name of Elisa Ferreira has not yet had the 'green light' from the MEPs and the future Portuguese Commissioner has to answer the questions raised until 25 September, next Wednesday.
Until 27 September, the MEPs of the Legal Affairs Committee will analyze the response and will make a decision, which will be referred to the committee that will hear Elisa Ferreira.

This implies, in practice, that Elisa Ferreira must sell the shares she owns in Sonae, the sources said.

South Africans Ponder Why Nigerian Musicians Prosper More Globally Compared to Their SA Counterparts

The release of Burna Boy‘s latest album, aptly titled African Giant, has opened a rather robust conversation on South African Twitter. The Nigerian star’s album isn’t only great, but it boasts features from US superstars Future, YG, Jorjia Smith and Jeremih and Damian Marley among African icons such as M.anifest and Angelique Kidjo. This is becoming a norm for Nigerian artists. For instance, Davido dropped a single featuring Chris Brown on the same day. Wizkid is on Jeezy‘s 2017 album Pressure. The Nigerian popstar’s Sounds From The Other Side project featured the likes of Trey Songz, Drake, Major Lazer and Ty Dolla $ign.
South Africa, which also has one of the biggest music industries on the continent, has had a reasonable number of contemporary artists rubbing shoulders with US superstars and get a bit of shine. From Nasty C’s collaborations with French Montana, A$AP Ferg, and upcoming ones with No I.D. and T.I., to Cassper Nyovest working with Black Thought, The Game, Talib Kweli and many others, South Africa has refused to get left behind. There are plenty other examples, including Saudi, Sjava, Yugen Blakrok and Babes Wodumo appearing on the Black Panther soundtrack last year, and recently Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly appearing on the Lion King one, curated by Beyoncé.
But, beyond collaborations and notable brief moments, Naija artists are a thing in the US and the UK. Compared to recent South African ones, Nigerian artists have released albums that get serious recognition worldwide.

In the last few days, South Africans on Twitter have been scratching their heads, wondering just what it is that Nigerians get right that they don’t. The reasons have varied, from how Nigerians make
“authentic” African music, to how South African artists aren’t united.
The frustrations come from the fact that, in the 70s, 80s and going into the 90s, South Africa had a reasonable number of internationally recognized musicians—think of the likes of Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba (alongside Fela Kutiof course). Masekela even managed to score a Billboard chart topper with “Grazing in the Grass” in July 1968. Nigerians, are however, frequenting similar platforms in present day more than South Africans, and in larger numbers than their contemporary South African counterparts.
Last year, when we interviewed Kiddominant, he told us he felt Afrobeats would be mainstream in the US “in three years” (he wasn’t far off). We asked him why he thought Nigerian artists have a tendency to succeed globally. His answer was:
“I think, as Nigerians, we work 10 times harder than the average African. Trust me, it’s in our DNA, we are hustlers, man. So it’s the extra mile artists are going pushing their music. And also the fact that in places like the UK and the States, the population of Nigerians there is very high. So we share our music with people around us, eventually it spreads out.”
Below are some tweets from South Africans (and Nigerians) trying to make sense of just why SA artists aren’t as big as Naija artists globally.
Cassper responded to a tweet that read’Davido chilling with Chris Brown and having a song with him. Wizkid featured by Beyoncè. Then Burna Boy. West Africans are gone!🚀”. He wrote:
“Too gone. We could have the same thing but nah, we would rather fight amongst ourselves and cut down our airplay to cut the reach. Disrepect our own sound and artists. That’s our vibe here. Niggas not playing your music cause they don’t like you, you know? Those vibes. We lost!”
He went further to say he wished he were a Nigerian. Saying “Won’t even lie. I wish i was from Nigeria too. The love they have for thier own artists, the way they celebrate their culture, 90% local content on radio and Tv, there way they celebrate their music no matter where they are in the world, the unity within thier industry. A DREAM!”
AKA had this to say in reply ““You wish you were whaaat?! F**k outta here bruv!!!”

In 1979, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher announced that the UK would officially recognize Rhodesia's independence if it moved to democratic majority rule.

Mugabe was elected Prime Minister the following year when his ZANU-PF secured 63 per cent of the national vote.

Jussie Smollett charges dropped

CHICAGO (AP) — An Illinois judge seems close to appointing a special prosecutor to look into why state prosecutors abruptly dropped charges against actor Jussie Smollett accusing him of staging a racist, anti-gay attack against himself. A hearing Friday will be one of the first opportunities for Cook County Judge Michael Toomin to name someone since his surprise ruling in June that a special prosecutor was warranted.
The Cook County state's attorney's office charged Smollett in February with 16 counts of disorderly conduct for purportedly orchestrating the incident. A month later, prosecutors dropped all charges with little explanation.
Among the options available to a special prosecutor would be to restore charges against Smollett, who continues to maintain the January incident wasn't staged.
A former state appellate judge, Sheila O'Brien, petitioned for a special prosecutor, leading to Toomin's ruling.

The front is all-screen with bezels barely visibly. Even the speaker (earpiece) has moved to the very fringes of the top almost aligning with the top bezel.
The new all-screen design means the Samsung Galaxy S10 can be built with a bigger display while still being somewhat more comfortable to handle than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Samsung Galaxy S10 features a brilliant 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that promises deep blacks and and a crisp view, thanks to the 1440 x 3040 pixels, HDR10, and 19:9 aspect ratio.

The under-display fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S10 is an ultrasonic sensor that uses soundwaves to capture 3D representation of every single ridge on your finger.
Want to unlock the the Galaxy S10? Just press the power button and the fingerprint sign will appear on the display. Place your finger on it to unlock your phone.

The Cameras

In 2018, Samsung introduced dual rear camera in the Galaxy S range with dual rear camera provided on the Galaxy S9 Plus that brought bokeh effect.
This year, Samsung is taking things further with the introduction of additional camera, to make it a trio-camera setup on the back of the flagship smartphone.
The rear camera setup consists of a 12 megapixels main camera with Optical Image Stabilization, dual pixel phase detection auto focus, and an aperture capable of f/1.5 and f/2.4 and a 12 megapixels telephoto lens camera with 2X optical zoom.
The new third camera is a 16 megapixels ultra-wide angle camera. This enables 0.5X wide-angle shots. The rear camera can record 4k videos at 60fps.
Slow motion recording is maintained at the same levels as the S9, with the Samsung Galaxy S10 recording 1080p full HD videos at up to 240fps and 720p HD videos at up to 960fps.
We have already mentioned briefly the front facing camera housed on the O-cutout on top right corner of the edge to edge display. What we have not told you yet is that the camera is a 10 megapixels camera with dual-pixel phase detection auto focus.
