 Addiction is a psychological and physical inability to stop consuming a chemical, drug, activity, or substance, even though it is causing psychological and physical harm. The term addiction does not only refer to dependence on substances such as heroin or cocaine.
Smoking has really been overlooked as a negative addiction when you can’t control it any longer and when you are bent on just smoking rather than do something lucrative with that time you spend smoking. The worst thing that can happen to anybody is becoming addicted to something hereby losing his sense of creativity and life entirely. When I mean loose life I mean a circumstance when you are living but not living why because you are involved with something that doesn’t add to your life but rather takes away a lot from you as an individual on constant. Smoking usually has a dangerous effect on the lungs.
Recently a lot of people have been diagnosed with lung failure due to getting addicted to smoking. I have made my research to help the community on how to cure addiction in smoking because it is now a cankerworm that has gotten hold of many of our men and women thereby affecting their ability to do more in assisting there community.
According to Medicalnewstoday website, Tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke are responsible for more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States, according to the American Lung Association. This is really bad all this occurred because of people getting addicted to it. You have to make a strong decision and keep to it. In other to quit an addiction all you need to do is make a strong decision on when and how to quit without any further delay. You have to stop or look out for things that Trigger it. In curing addiction, you have to get back to the root of the problem in order to solve it properly. So many addictions come from attending parties, bars, etc. Mostly so many men, when stressed up, may be from a very difficult moment in the home the resort to smoking to help forget the problem. Let me tell you the fact you smoke during problems doesn’t solve your problem rather it can increase health cases when you smoke addictively. Avoid taking alcohol because it can trigger the urge to smoke is better you take soft drinks. During this therapy period, you are expected to avoid anything that will make you want to smoke.
1.     Self-determination: In life, determination have been one of the striking force pushing mankind on a daily bases. If you decide to quit smoking and still go back to doing or carrying activities just as I mentioned in number one of this article you are not yet determined for change. Lot of decisions made by humans come from the mind and also that is brought to the physical as a result of what the mind thought out. Try to follow up on every measure that will help on the way by staying positive and determined.
2.     Try Nicotine replacement therapy:
Ask your doctor about nicotine replacement therapy. The options include:
  • Prescription nicotine in a nasal spray or inhaler
  • Over-the-counter nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges
  • Prescription non-nicotine stop-smoking medications such as bupropion (Zyban) and varenicline (Chantix)
Short-acting nicotine replacement therapies — such as nicotine gum, lozenges, nasal sprays or inhalers — can help you overcome intense cravings. This will really serve as a replacement for smoking and moreover take away the mindset of smoking entirely thereby killing the addiction you might be involved with.
3.     Tell your friends and family: The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to keep a problem away from a loved one in the name of fearing shame or being rebuked. As always said a problem shared is really half solved. When you have the temerity to share your addictions with your family or friends it becomes leverage for you to get out of the problem. One thing about seeking support from family is that they will help stop you from lighting up a cigarette from time to time. With that attention on you, I believe you will have no other choice than to follow their instruction.
4.     Practice relaxation Methods: Some of the reasons why so many smokes is due to stress to end a negative addiction you have to replace it with a positive one. There are a lot of sports activities you can get engage with that will help you relieve pressure for instance Running, Swimming, Skipping, Playing of indoor games, Gyming, etc there are a lot of exercises one can get occupied with when not busy with work to erase the urge for smoking.
5.     Ask yourself why I want to stop: That is a very simple and difficult question to ask yourself that you already know an addiction from smoking can damage your lungs and thereby reducing your life span if not properly managed.
·        Do look around you and remember you are not living for yourself alone you have friends and family who want to always have you around.
·        Also you need good health to maximize your potentials and God-given talents cause health is wealth if you are not healthy I might not be able to do much. Medical doctors who swore to protect mankind know truthfully this life is much valuable.



6.     Counselor: In cases where you have tried a lot and it did not work just go to a counselor and seek advice. Times you have to take another platform to get an aggressive result
7.     To maintain cleanliness: Smoking is really attracting when you have things that remind you of it all ways you will really want to do it not minding you have to remove all the cigarette packs, toss all of your ashtrays and lighters. Wash any clothes that smell like smoke, and clean your carpets, draperies, and upholstery. Use air fresheners to have a good smell around the environment at all times. I was opportune to talk to someone who is addicted he said the smell alone give then this strong urge to smoke. I know if you make sure all that deals with smoking is tidied up it will be the best.
8.     Try and Try again: Quitters never win ok. Do not be such a person you have to keep trying you might not quiet instantly but bit by bit you will start dropping the habits you will even end up smoking a stick a week don’t give up keep trying. If you believe you can stop a thing you will the only thing that will stop you from doing it yourself.
